Mario Leotta


PRESIDENT

Mario has a B.Sc. from UNSW. In 1987 he left his position as National Sales Manager for a large food company to operate from his own retail business in Hi-Fi equipment, retiring again in 2017. Married to Kerrie for over 50 years,
they reside in Beecroft and enjoy the company of their three children and five grandchildren. Mario indulges in golf, tennis and travel (when they have spare time) to their vineyard in the Hunter Valley.

Ross Walker OAM

VICE PRESIDENT and SECRETARY

Registered surveyor for 15 years in Canberra and Sydney. Scouting leader, Beecroft Cheltenham Civic Trust President. Hornsby Council’s Bushland Management Advisory Committee Member. Awarded an Order of Australia in 2019 for services to the community. Ross has three children and two grandchildren. Active resident of Beecroft for almost 30 years.

Rob Spencer

IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT

Rob retired as an Associate Professor in Engineering Management interested in integrating manufacturing facilities and product optimisation; he consulted widely and authored many publications.  Hobbies include photography, genealogy & DNA.  Long term residents of Beecroft, Rob and Eileen have five grandchildren.

Bill Rankine

TREASURER

Bill mainly worked in the petroleum industry in admin, finance, sales, marketing and risk management.  
Bill is a director of a credit union and committee member of the Beecroft Cheltenham Civic Trust. Interests include horse racing, AFL and caravanning.  Bill and Jacquie have two children and one grandchild.

Warren Duff

MEMBERSHIP CO-ORDINATOR

Warren’s career was in the telecommunications and petroleum industry where he applied his specialist management qualifications in procurement, supply and information technology. He is a member of his local sport and social clubs in Cheltenham, enjoys gardening and walking and is a bush care volunteer.

 

Bruce Lumsden

SPEAKERS CO-ORDINATOR

Founded own business in importing processing machinery for hard rock mining and quarrying. Retired in 1996. Former director of Ausmine. Member of Pennant Hills Golf Club, (Board member 1998/2005, President 2003-05). Bruce and his wife Barbara have lived in Pennant Hills for 45 years.
They have two children and three grandchildren.

 

Charles Mackowski

PROBITAS EDITOR

Charlie's career was in forest and wildlife management and research, and as adviser to unions and to government.  Beecroft residents for 25yrs, Charlie and Diane have four children and six grand children. 

 

Denis Tamsett

OUTINGS CO-ORDINATOR

Denis Tamsett Denis taught English and the Creative arts for 25 yrs. He moved into the fitness industry to help his son establish a gym and then moved into the family real estate business in Beecroft from which he retired in 2022. A retired golfer he now enjoys gardening, travel and his grandaughter.
